Another group of Nigerian nationals is being repatriated from South Africa amid continuing concerns over attacks and hostility directed at foreigners.
Reports indicate that 65 Nigerians were scheduled to return to Nigeria on Wednesday.
Nigeria has previously organised government-supported evacuations in response to xenophobic violence, with its Foreign Ministry confirming that affected returnees would be transported home and assisted on arrival.
A difficult relationship
Nigeria and South Africa have deep economic, diplomatic and cultural ties.
Millions of people move between the two countries for business, education, employment and family reasons.
The long-term solution cannot simply be moving people out of danger.
It requires stronger protection, law enforcement and a serious conversation about the roots of xenophobia.
